Quickie review: Shorter and simpler than her other novels, this one pays tribute to women "past their first youth" and to self-made men.
Quickie recommendation: If you are predisposed to Austen - yes. Otherwise, if you're only going to read one or two, there are worthier examples of her work.

Persuasion is one of my favorite Austen novels, and I am a HUGE Austen fan. I couldn't agree more with the fact that it's probably one of her easist reads, however it wasn't published until after her death. Sometimes I wonder if she truly had finished editing.
I really don't think she had. Her other novels are more complex, seems as though she had the habit of going over her manuscripts and adding in things once she knew how it would all turn out. Persuasion lacks that polish.
